What happens when our nation’s law enforcement up and leave the job?
Policing has been around in the United States since 1789, which was when the first Marshal’s service was established. From there, local agencies began popping up in cities, with the first being in Philadelphia in 1751.
Since then, policing has changed, A LOT, and for good reason. The changes have been for the better of the communities and the law enforcement personnel. But what happens when law enforcement officers begin to leave because the risk is no longer worth the reward? What will our nation look like without law and order? Chaos.
I don’t think it will be good, that’s for sure. Our nation’s law enforcement is by no means perfect but they have definitely taken a beating the past few years.
With political opinions aside, one must know that everyone needs law enforcement at some point. Every one will need protection from the evils of this world, that could at any point in time make its way into your life.
You don’t have to like the police but maybe we should all start showing them a little appreciation before too many of them walk off the job.
